is the objective of the list?
To
inform the public of ALL businesses or individuals
who have not responded to written complaints or who have failed
to provide resolutions as promised.
- What
is the effective date of the list?
This
list will be effective with all complaints received on and after
October 15, 2003.
- What
is the advantage or purpose of this list?
The
S.C. Department of Consumer Affairs is implementing this list
to educate consumers about the businesses or individuals who have
not responded to one or more written complaints.
- When
may a business or individual be removed from the list?
In
order for a business to be removed, ALL of their
outstanding complaints must be answered in writing.
- What
criteria is used for a business or individual to be added to the
list?
The
business does not respond to a complaint.
The
business response is received but the resolution is not provided
aspromised.
A complaint
extension is requested by the business or individual, but a response
is not received.
