The State Continuing Care Retirement Community Act requires that all continuing care retirement communities operating in this State file with the S.C. Department of Consumer Affairs. Pursuant to Act No. 97 of 1989, the Department is responsible for the licensing of continuing care retirement communities. S.C. Code Ann. § 37-11-10 through 37-11-140 (Supp. 1997). The Division handles the responsibilities associated with those facilities. The filing fee is $2000.
