SCDCA v. Rescue Debt, Inc., Docket No. 06-ALJ-30-0645-IJ
On October 9, 2006, the Administrative Law Court (ALC) issued an Order in favor of the Department. The Court found that Rescue Debt, Inc. was operating a credit counseling service without a license and engaged in other violations of the Consumer Credit Counseling Act. The Order requires Rescue Debt, Inc to: (1) Cease and desist from offering credit counseling services and violating the Act, and (2) Provide the Department with copies of South Carolina contracts so refunds and fines may be issued.
